Reducing our impact on the environment.

Improving Efficiency

We are using energy efficient systems and machines, recycling materials, insulating our building, using electric forklift trucks and generating our own power with the addition of solar panels on our factory roof. Developing efficient, sustainable processes and reducing inputs makes us more competitive, which is good for Peerless Plastics & Coatings and our customers.

We recognise our responsibility for reducing the impact of our work on the environment. We are committed to reducing our waste and emissions, and to using renewable energy in all our operations where possible. To demonstrate our commitment to environmental best practice, we have achieved ISO 14001:2015 accreditation for our Environmental Management systems.

We are also active members of the British Plastics Federation Sustainability Committee and Made in Britain® Green Growth Programme, keeping up to date with current industry policies.

Investments/Actions/Initiatives taken to date:

  • Installed Solar Panels on our factory roof – Providing a minimum of 30% of our electricity requirements to be generated by renewable energy.
  • Installed a Voltage optimiser – Providing an additional 10% reduction of our actual electricity consumption.
  • LED lighting installed throughout the factory.
  • New, more energy efficient CNC Routers.
  • Upgraded UV curing systems (that use less power) for our coating line.
  • New Digital printers that are more energy efficient and use inks that are better for the environment.
  • New variable compressor dryer system that uses less power.
  • Optimising transport schedules to maximise efficiency, improve delivery times and minimise carbon footprints.
  • Training and awareness of all staff on energy usage, recycling, transport and carbon footprints.
  • Increasing staff awareness of our material usage and investigating any greener alternatives that can be sourced/used for projects.

Our Vision

We are dedicated to remaining at the fore front of UV hard coating developments. We will continue to invest in new machinery, staff and procedures that enable us to carry out multiple processes in-house, offering a complete end-to-end service under one roof, enabling lower carbon footprints for Peerless Plastics & Coatings and our customers.

Our coating line offers fully automated hard coating for materials up to 2100mm x 6000mm long with mass volume hard coating of small parts, mouldings & extrusions for many industries & applications.

Our hard coating line operates in fully air-managed clean room conditions, resulting in consistent high-quality coatings for most types of plastic substrate.

All of our processes comply with our BSI registration for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 accreditation. We are also proud members of the British Plastics Federation, Made in Britain and the European Plastics Distribution Association.
