Polycarbonate offers an excellent alternative to glass for glazing applications because it has 200 times the impact strength, whilst being 50% lighter and still offering excellent clarity and light transmission.
Additionally, Polycarbonate provides greater insulation than glass, helping keep energy usage down. Polycarbonate glazing reduces UV transmittance, can be adjusted to diffuse light and is easier to install than glass.
Whilst near un-breakable, the soft surface of polycarbonate does mean that it can quickly become marked and scuffed from day to day wear and tear. Applying a protective hard coating to glazing provides excellent abrasion & chemical resistance, ensuring that the glazing remains optically clear and retains its physical properties such as impact resistance, for longer.
