PET / PETG Plastic Sheet
PET and PETG may sound very similar but with the addition of glycol (the G), the plastic very much changes in composition when side by side. PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is a harder and more brittle plastic which even to the touch feels much different from the surface of PETG.
A high quality plastic sheet, PET and specifically PETG is well suited to the food and pharmaceutical industries with most forms of the material being FDA approved. Both products are nearly always fully recyclable and are often found in the modern plastic bottles. PETG is much more common in the marketplace and has all but replaced PET but fr a few specialist applications.
Due to the flexible nature of the polyester base in PETG, it is incredibly impact resistant in relation to similar materials whilst also offering brilliant optical clarity – making it ideal for glazing and signage.
